- Go out together for a cup of coffee
- Cook food for one another
- Take a day trip together
- Take a “Goofy Picture”

Hello Everyone, it’s almost Valentine’s Day and you know what that means, it’s time to find some fun things to do with your better half!!! If you are like us, it is a constant struggle to find ways to keep your relationship vibrant and fresh. It’s only natural that as we become more comfortable, we begin to take for granted those things that once upon a time inspired us to get together in the first place. I for one know I need to be reminded every once in a while and as for my husband… Well, let’s just say he needs some reminding too… hehehe
So what can we do to keep the romance alive… sometimes I think to myself “I wish I knew”… but most of the time we do okay and that is because we both love to do the same things. Because of this, just getting a cup of coffee together and taking a walk can be romantic… To me, romance is not about the crazy displays of flowers and other gifts, but is more about taking the time to listen to your partner and them taking the time to listen to me… I mean really listen, you know what I mean? Nothing says I care more than when someone remembers some small detail like that you were craving movie popcorn the other day so they stop by the theater and bring some home for you… You know, the little stuff.
Because this Blog is about finding ways to make the most of everyday life, I figured I would list some of the small things my husband and I do for one another to keep our relationship strong. I know many bloggers like to post things like the most romantic getaways or the best place to go for a romantic dinner and don’t worry, at some point, I am sure we will do the same, but for right now, I just want to talk about the little things. Things that are affordable and that we can do every day for one another. You know, taking advantage of those every day moments…
1. Take a walk together

This is one of our favorite things to do together and because we have a fur baby named Lucy, that we have to take for walks daily. To be honest, I really love this part of our life in Korea. When we lived in the US, it sometimes seemed like such a chore to walk our fur daughter around because of our crazy work schedules, but here, things seem a bit more relaxed and our work/life balance is much better. Regardless though, finding the time to walk together and talk about your day can really help your relationship grow. When we take the time to listen to one another it truly shows you care… In fact, that was how this Blog became a reality… Just me and my husband walking and talking about our dreams… who knows where it will lead you.
2. Go out together for a cup of coffee

It doesn’t have to be coffee, it can be a glass of wine or maybe dessert. It is less about the what and more about the why… As with taking a walk, going for a coffee or some dessert is just a nice way to provide you with some much-needed “Us Time” or time to sit back, relax and talk about your day and your dreams…This is also something we did not do enough of back in the US, but here in Korea, I think there might be more coffee shops than people, and there are so many great places to go and relax you can’t help but get into the habit.

3. Cook food for one another

If I am being honest, when my husband and I first met, I was not a very good cook, I learned a couple of recipes from some of my friends but really had to work on this… Thankfully, my husband was in Culinary School and was more than happy to practice his craft on me… Overall, we both had a lot to learn, but in the end, we learned together. When it comes to cooking, it’s is not really about the food, but the act of love that happens when you make food for someone. When you provide the person you care about with life-giving nourishment it also nourishes you… not just your body but your soul as well… There is no better way to create a bond of trust than struggling to cook for one another regardless of your skill level.
4. Take a day trip together

There is no better way to make the most of life’s everyday moments than to go out and find the things that make the area you live in special… To this end, taking day trips to explore some new neighborhood is a great way to “Live and Learn” together. While many of you comment on how nice the places are that we focus on in our Blog, I can promise you, that if you look around, you will find a place that I would think is cool and exotic… Every area has something that makes it special, and a great way to keep the romance alive is to find those places together.
5. Take a “Goofy Picture”

Finally, take a goofy picture together… Have you ever heard the phrase “Live, Laugh Love?” We all can use a little laughter in our lives and far too often we take ourselves way too seriously…Sometimes it’s important to let your guard down and just be goofy together… Nothing says love more than laughing like two complete idiots together while everyone around you thinks your crazy… Making the most of life means finding time to laugh!!!
